Celebrating our slow fashion ethos, Nora is an ode to the art of handmade. Beginning with four wood blocks intricately hand-carved to create two traditional jaal and buti floral designs, skilled artisans then use the blocks to slowly and carefully hand print delicate noir hues with a sweet magenta outline upon the softest cotton voile. Tiers of printed fabric have then been gracefully layered and finished with mother-of-pearl buttons from bodice to base, forming this free flowing feminine style lovingly hand-crafted by a small group of women in Jaipur, India.

*Please note due to this style's production process taking several months to create, each Nora maxi dress is completely unique and one-of-a-kind and is only available in extremely limited quantities.*

Material ~ 100% Cotton. This style features an underlining, covering the bodice to the base of the second last tier on the maxi length skirt.

Garment Care ~ We recommend a gentle, cold water hand wash using natural detergents, and hang drying in the shade. Handcrafted garments are delicate, however, designed to last when treated mindfully with love and care.

Princess Dress

I feel like a princess in my new Nora Maxi Dress! Perfect for a summer heat wave in NYC. I love everything about it, especially the sleeves. I usually wear an XS and the XS is a great fit, however I may order a S when I order my next frock from Daughters of India, because I love the flowiness and the fabric is divine! For context I am 5'5 and weigh 110 pounds. You can probably find less expensive dresses like this, but these are special and well worth the extra $$.

Soft, comfortable, lifetime piece

The fabric is so delicate and soft, there's a slip that keeps it opaque its like wearing a cloud. This design is very flattering, probably one of the most flattering DoI designs. I am 175 cm tall and ordered an extra small, its the perfect length for flat shoes and bare feet hitting right at my ankles. Definitely this will be a very special, heavily worn dress that will be kept and repaired over and over as a lifetime piece.
